Our Baby is 1!!!!

Someone please tell me how this year went by so fast compared to the rest of my life!! I never knew I could love a complete stranger as much as I love my Bryson. Just to let you know this post will be LONG & have A LOT of pictures

Happy 1st Birthday Bryson Michael!!

 

Bryson is wearing 12 month clothes. He is STILL in size 3 diapers. He is around 21 pounds I am guessing. (he goes to the doctor on Friday so we will find out for sure then) He loves to eat & will try anything you give him. He is a huge fan of all fruit & most veggies! He is a little funny about meat, but he is getting better eating meat. He is fully switched from formula to whole milk & has done great with it. He doesn't like the milk to be right out of the fridge, but will drink it up if its cool. He is still on the bottle in the morning only because I can fully assure he will drink it all. We are trying to get rid of that bottle. We have only let him have his paci in the car seat & when he goes to sleep for nap & bedtime. We are thinking about only letting him have it to sleep, so it wont be so hard to "take it away" from him when the time comes. He has 8 teeth (4 on the top & 4 on the bottom). He has taken a step or two here & there to try to get to the sofa, but he walks great holding on to the sofa, your hands or his toys. He loves to push everything across the floor.  He is learning more words everyday. He knows the candle & oven are HOT & will tell you every time he passes by them. He also says ball, go, Ma Ma, Da, Bubba, & Pop Pop all the time. He now knows how to "holler" at you to get your attention. I hear "Ma" all the time & he gets louder & louder until he has my undivided attention.

 

LIKES: drinking water, pushing toys, music, playing with Elmer, identifying peoples/objects eyes & nose, eating grilled cheese sandwiches, playing the drums, being outside, going on walks, clapping, smiling & trying to talk

 

DISLIKES: getting dressed & getting in the car seat.

 

We decided to split up Bryson's birthday & have 2 parties so he wouldn't be so overwhelmed & not so many people at our house at one time. Saturday we had a friends party & Sunday we had a family party. Bryson birthday parties were Cookie Monster themed. I had so much fun planning his birthday party I cant wait to see what I can come up with next year. Thanks to pinterest his birthday was creative & fun. I know he will not remember this birthday but it meant a lot to us to make it special & he will always have pictures to look back at!

 

Cookie Monster made a grand appearance at both parties! He was a hit! Only a few kids were a little afraid, but nothing too bad.

Bryson was blessed with a wonderful birthday & birthday parties! He is truly loved a lot!

Christmas Pics

We send out picture Christmas cards every year & of course this year Bryson had to be the main focus!! (Last year we mailed our Christmas cards out & Bryson was born the day after most people recieved them, so this was his 1st "real" Christmas card appearance!)

 

These were just a few of the ones we loved & put on our Christmas cards!

 

(Also, if you notice Mommy cut 8.5inches off her hair. I actually didnt cry! I had been wanting to do it for a long time, but finally got the nerve up to do it! It surely takes a lot less shampoo, conditioner & time!!)

11 Months (11/9/12)

OK...so I know I am such a slacker! This is a month & a day behind, but between an almost 1 year old, working full time, planning a birthday party, & preparing for Christmas I have just gotten behind on my blogging!

11 Months Old

 

Bryson is wears mostly 12 month clothes. We have an issue with his pants because 12 month pants are too big in the waist but too short in length. He is still in size 3 diapers. Everyone told me kids wear size 2 the longest...I sure feel like he has been in size 3 for a long time. He weighs around 20 pounds 5 ounces. He loves most all people food & not eating much baby food anymore. He has finally come around to liking bananas! He has almost weaned himself off of formula. He is only drinking maybe 16 ounces a day. He gulps down his morning bottle, but we have to push him to drink any more formula throughout the day. We are working on getting rid of the bottle. He only has the bottle in the morning & before bed. During the day is all sippy cup! He has 8 teeth & likes to test them out...if ya know know what I mean :( He is pulling up on everything & now crawls with one leg up like he is just going to get up and run. He says different things everyday. Some of the words we hear over & over & others we only hear once in a while. His new favorite word is "Bubba." Our friends, The Wilson's, have 2 boys & the youngest calls the oldest "Bru Bru" & Bryson understands it as Bubba so he calls both of the boys "Bubba"

 

LIKES: eating, being outside, books, "playing the drums", clapping, dancing, grilled cheese sandwiches, green beans, applesauce, being in water, pulling up, looking at himself in the mirror, crawling & for Mommy to hold him.

 

DISLIKES: getting dressed & getting in the car seat

Trick or Treat :) & Surgery :(

Bryson's first Halloween went a lot better than we were expecting! Bryson is NOT a fan of hats or socks & shoes so I was worried how this whole costume idea was going to go over with him, but surprisingly he did great! I got him dressed & we went to go visit my Nana & he fell asleep in the car so I snuck the feet & head piece on him! Magically when he woke up it NEVER once phased him that it was on & he kept it on all night ;)

This past Friday, Bryson had his circumcision surgery. Of course Mommy didn't sleep much at all the night before! I had full faith in the doctors & nurses, but it broke my heart to see my baby boy preparing for surgery & in pain. The nurse asked us if we wanted the nurses to take him back to put him to sleep or if one of us wanted to take him. We both agreed it would be easier on Bryson if one of us took him back, but they only allow 1 parent. So needless to say Daddy got nominated for that job! I couldn't bare the thought of seeing Bryson like that or him being put to sleep in my arms! Of course when they told us it was "time" & Daddy took Bryson back Mommy lost it & cried her eyes out! They told us the procedure would be about an hour or a little longer. After Bryson had been back there about 55 minutes they came out & told us they had just got started because they had complications with finding his vein for an IV. She told us Bryson would have a lot of "sticks" & may be bruised tomorrow, but they finally got the IV in & started surgery. Needless to say when we got to see Bryson he was full of sticks!! 4 in one hand, 2 in the other, 1 in his wrist, 1 in each for arm, 2 on one foot, 1 on the other & 3 or 4 random ones on his thighs!! They finally got the IV in on his inner thigh. They wanted us to be in the recovery room before he fully woke up since he was so small & they knew he would be so upset if he didn't see Mommy or Daddy. I couldn't of been more happier when they placed him in my arms! I know I gave him a million kisses & held him tight! It broke my heart to see him hooked up to IVs, but I was just happy to be holding him! He has done so well with it. Friday & Saturday he was very clingy to Mommy, but that was fine by me!! Diaper changes were ROUGH & PITIFUL, but they are getting better as the days go by! I'm so glad this is over & behind us! I hope to never have to watch my child undergo any sort of surgery again!!!!
