Daddy kept telling Mommy that Bryson needed a haircut NOW! I said we needed to wait until he turned 1 to cut his hair. Daddy said that was fine but made an appt 3 days after Bryson's birthday! He actually did really well with the hair cut once we gave him a candy cane :)

On December 15th Bryson went to the doctor for his 1 year check up. It went great! He is now 20.8 ounces & 29 3/4 inches. He is a VERY active little boy so he hasn't gained much weight since his last appointment so the doctors wanted to be sure we feed him food whenever he wants it! They didn't seem to be worried with his weight as long as he doesn't lose any weight! He had to get 2 shots & his finger pricked for labs. He didn't mind the finger prick at all...he actually thought it was funny! Of course he hasn't ever had a band aid accept for on his legs, so a band aid on his finger turned out to be SO MUCH FUN!! He literally ate 3 sets of band aids off his finger!
(notice him chewing on the band aid)
This same week he fully gave up the bottle & gave up formula. His switch to all milk wasn't as hard as some people had told me! THANK THE LORD! (Since the switch to whole milk we have discovered Bryson is lactose intolerant. We are currently trying different things to see what we think works and doesn't work. We have to document it & take it back to the doctor when we go back. He has done very well with all of the issues he has had with the lactose problem. He hasn't fussed a bit & we know he has been in some pain & so have our noses!!!)
As usual we had an extremely busy Christmas! On Christmas Eve we went to Grandpa's house (Meredith's Dad) for breakfast, then to Nana McCowan's house at the lake for dinner, then late Christmas morning we went to Nana Veasey's house for lunch, then all of The McCowan's came to our house for dinner. It is always rush rush rush, but I don't think it would feel like Christmas if we didn't have it like this!
Chowing down on Christmas Eve breakfast
Christmas Eve wore him out! Snugglin with "Da"

Silly boy thinks his new race track is a cool seat
Today we had a lot of ice, sleet & freezing rain (like most of NC did) Luckily Mommy is off every Friday so we didn't have to even worry about getting out in it. Of course Daddy went to work, but he came home early. Daddy decided he wanted to take Bryson sledding tonight so we did. Mommy & Bry rode on the sled while Daddy pulled/pushed us. Bryson was a HUGE fan! Looks like if Old Man Winter allows we will continue to have lots of sledding adventures in winters to come!
He even kept his gloves on!!
Here are some random pictures since his birthday :)
This was about 3 seconds before the tears came
Mommy had made buckeyes & someone could reach them in the fridge & helped himself
Riding on my new bike
What 'cha looking at Willis??
YES we have a climber & a dare devil!!
(I turned my back for 30 seconds to put his bowl in the dishwasher & this is what I turn around to! Don't worry he is now harnessed in every time)
